Does anyone know where this quote can be found?
Does anyone know where this quote can be found?
I recall reading a transcript of an address Brigham Young gave to a congregation welcoming Martin Harris back to the fold. Brigham was shockingly rude in the process. If I remember right he emphasized Martins ugliness against his own delightsomeness and said that Martin probably could not get a wife if he tried, while he (Brigham) had multiple. I thought this was in the JD, bot I cant find it and googling has failed me so far. Does anyone else remember hearing about or reading this?

It was Thomas B. Marsh. It is to be found in the Journal of Discourses, volume 5, page 209 ff. (It starts near the end of page 209, and the juicy stuff is on page 210.)
By the way, there is a searchable Journal of Discourses at jod.mrm.org.

It was part of a thread at NOM 2.0 a couple of months ago.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.
