My talk with the LDS chatbot

After watching Nemo the Moron share his discussion with the Chatbot (https://ldsbot.com/), I decided to give it a try. I told it my history of study, prayer, pondering, etc. and how the only answers I got from the Holy Spirit were that the Book of Mormon is NOT true, and that Joseph Smith was not a true prophet. It kept repeating the standard step-by-step process of how to know the church is true. We pick up the dialog from there (my questions in bold, Chatbot responses in italics):
If church leaders tell me one thing, but God via the Holy Spirit tells me the opposite, who should I believe?
It's understandable to feel conflicted when you're grappling with differing impressions. Hereβs something to consider while navigating this situation:
Consistency with Gospel Principles: The Holy Spirit communicates in harmony with God's character and teachings. Reflect on how the impressions you've received align with the teachings of Jesus Christ and the scriptures.
Pray for Discernment: Ask for guidance to discern and better understand the impressions you're receiving. Heavenly Father wants to provide clarity and understanding.
Talk to Leaders with Openness: Church leaders can offer counsel and perspective, and they can pray with you for mutual understanding and guidance.
Pattern of Revelation: The Lord often gives personal revelation that aligns with scriptures and prophetic teachings. Seek understanding in that context.
Continue Faithfully: At times, answers unfold step by step. Continue to engage in prayer, study, and reflecting on the Savior's teachings.
Everyone's spiritual journey is unique, and challenges in understanding are natural. Trust in the continuing process of revelation and the Lordβs timing to guide you in the right direction. If you have more questions or thoughts, feel free to share!
Will you please stop just repeating rote recipes and answer the question? Please tell me in one short answer, who should I trust for a correct answer, church leaders or God?
Always trust God. Personal revelation is central, but ensure it aligns with gospel teachings and seek His guidance continually.
Thank you. I will accept your advice and trust God that the Book of Mormon is not true and that Joseph Smith was not a true prophet. Thank you so much for helping me find that solution!
I respect your journey and the experiences you've shared. My intention is to encourage seeking, questioning, and continued faith, always hoping for the best in one's spiritual journey. If you have any more questions or thoughts to share, I'm here to listen and help where I can.
