Heading to Mexico to hang with my apostate hippy friend

So about a decade ago, the first of many close friends left the church. RM, BIC, MIT, etc... and left after further light and knowledge at law school.
He has sort of been the proverbial slippery slope example for me and DW. He left the church and all normal life to become a hippy, living in a van, playing the didgeridoo for money on a multi-year trek across North and south america. I am often jealous of his absolute freedom f cares and responsibilities.
I am going to hang with him this week for 4 days in Xalapa Mexico. He has a concert Saturday and will busking the parks most days.
DW told me not to smoke anything with him. Neighbors told me not to get a tatoo. I am going to let loose a bit but I really want to be honest with DW and not get into any trouble.
I am looking forward t next week! If I don't report back, I either slid off the slope, got kidnapped, or just ran from my responsibilities.

This still leaves vaping and edibles on the table!

Yes! Edibles! We live in a wonderful age of choices now.
I can smoke, but my lungs just can't take it anymore. Edibles are much easier. They take a little longer to kick in, like 15-20 minutes, but are much more enjoyable and your lungs will thank you. Just keep the chips and cookies in stock and ready to go.
Have fun and remember: travel safely to your destination, bless the refreshments and return with honer...er I mean return and report!

So my first flight was delayed over an hour, causing me to miss my direct flight to MEX, rerouted to LAX and this flight now has mechanical delays, is the lord protecting me from a diabolical trip?
Haha, TBM thoughts are hard to kick!
I am texting my gay brother who is telling me about ayahuasca and DMT (mushrooms).
I am not getting any ideas but it certainly creates some curiosity. If it were 100% safe and DW and my job wouldn't care, it would be interesting.

I hope you are having (or had) a good time! I might not come back!
When you first posted about your friend I thought it was so interesting that someone would leave a potentially lucrative career in law to just live completely free.

Made it back. Had a great time just forgetting about the world. I did have some new experiences but I didn't smoke weed, although my buddy did 2-3 rimes a day right in front if me. It was the first time I was able to really sit down and talk apostate stuff with someone I knew before and after leaving. It was truly great. We both admitted jealousy of the other side of the fence. I couldnt do what he is doing longer than a few weeks. He couldn't do what I do for more than a few weeks. Mutual respect!

Glad you had fun! I still haven't tried any Mexican beers, I may need to remedy that soon.
