We’re back! Thanks Captain Salty!

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

My thanks as well. I've been frantically reading my old posts just to mentally have a view of my faith crisis journey since it came back, and wow what a ride. Thanks to all for their work in the ongoing restoration of NOM.

Yes, thank you for fixing NOM and I know it probably took some time. I missed it because this has become kind of my favorite people social group.

Yay. Thank you. I don't say too much, but I like to have a place to go.

Let's hope this being back up stays up.

What a relief! I know I don't post often, but this place still feels like a sanctuary and I was sad to see it down. Long live NOM!

Thank you, Captain Salty! I was worried we'd lost the community. I seriously would miss you all!

The great thing about the board vanishing for a while is that we get to hear from a few of our dear old friends when it comes back up again.

Ya'll had me panicked!! I know I've been "less active." But I was so sad when I logged in and the board was down. I thought maybe the SCMC got to us at last.

I've noticed the site is up and down quite a bit.

Thanks Captain Salty for your efforts to resurrect the site each time it goes down.

Just curious, any ideas what's leading to the frequent crashes? Does the host have trouble running a stable database? Or is it something similar to a DDoS attack causing the site's sessions table to constantly crash? Like search engine or even AI bots that are hitting the site hard to scrape/mine data and eventually the site gets overwhelmed? Or some other bad actor?

The site currently runs off of an old Commodore 64 in Corsairs closet. Occasionally he has to unplug the machine and take it out on the antique road show circuit and then to the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.

That’s as true as Jaredite Uboats sailing to America.

Has any of this been due to Defense of the Faith internet attacks?
