Thanks Mackman!
So much to give thanks for, some of it so different from what we might have once considered thankworthy.

Canada has its Thanksgiving Day in October. I assume they want to have it before winter hibernation.

This was one of the tiny, tiny perks of being an American in Canada on my mission. We always got Canadian Thanksgiving and then inevitably some kind ward member would provide us with another dinner for American Thanksgiving in November. I do not believe there were any other perks whatsoever.

Happy Thanksgiving.
So many memories, holidays - missing those who are gone, missing those who moved away. Just immediate family this year, and phone calls.
Is it just part of getting older, an ache inside through the holidays?

I think so. The older we get, the more we lose.
I'm grateful for the loved ones still with me, who dull the ache with joy.
I'm grateful for the Internet, by which I can stay connected to loved ones far away.

I spent some time reading Richard Rohr's Two halves of life book, very good. Yes, much to be grateful for.
