Soaking and Jump Humping in the news

there have been a lot of people on TikTok making videos about soaking and now 'jump humping' within Mormonism and it's been hitting the news lately... I had a never-Mormon friend message me a screenshot that just said "WTF is this?"
It's funny how Mormonism's absurd rules and control lead to things like this. I have seen enough people talk about soaking being real to believe it's true even if it's probably almost like a joke people do to fulfill an urban legend, but tend to think that jump humping can't be true.
No real point to this post other than to laugh at the fact that the Mormon church is constantly making the news for the dumbest reasons.

"Jump-humping" is killing me. I am literally crying with mirth as I type.
I can't even finish the Post article. This is the most beautiful BS I've read in a long time.
Did they manage to get any believing Mormons to comment?

I don't think they had believing Mormons, but there was another one I saw last week I think that called something like the thruster or the pusher or something and the videos showed someone under a bunk bed basically pushing it with their legs as two people soaked above.
It's so stupid but it does make me laugh... I really can't believe jump humping is a thing although one person on Facebook said they knew about it... but that's not much to go with.

I envision a future Ensign article, similar to the one about coffee where it said anything ending in -cino is probably against the WoW… it would say something like anything ending in”humping” is probably illegal for unwed Mormons.

The Alpha House series on Prime had a Mormon girl who wouldn't have sex with her boyfriend, but soaking was ok, so they showed them soaking and soaking and soaking in all kinds of places and positions. Sex seems to be the recurring major theme of Mormonism, whether you're in it, out of it, or studying its history.

As they say at BYU, "Soaketh thine bodkin by eight bells, so thine bodkin doth not tarry on Sabbath morn".

I find it extremely difficult to believe that some idiots out there could believe they could do this and still maintain that they aren't being immoral.
But then Mormonism lends itself to rationalization like no other religion....

Mormon Stories 1490 talks about this with Marc Osland.
https://www.mormonstories.org/podcast/m ... u-soaking/
John Delehin takes the position that while is sounds crazy, no one can ever actually point to someone who says: "Yes, I did that at BYU." He doesn't think is is a real thing. Like the stories of BYU couples taking a weekend/spring break trip to Vegas to get married and then divorced at the end of the trip. It's something that supposedly every knows someone who does it, but they can never actually identify any real participants.
It's the ex-mo/never-mo version of a faith-promoting-rumor. It sounds good, but no one can every actually prove that it happened. Mormon-Crazy-Promoting-Rumor?

Wouldn't epicurean thigh sex be better? It's what ancient Greeks did...

I agree. What happened to Doctrine and Covenants 59:6? "...not commit adultery...or anything like it" (something like that). I'm pretty sure soaking/jump humping qualify as being LIKE it. Maybe they're confusing it with LIKING it.

The church would prefer the birthing of children directly from your head or thigh, like Zeus did, over Hephaestus' thigh hump. But both probably require confession to your bishop.

This thread ended up getting me suspended from TikTok for 3 days.
Apparently you can do videos that are talking about all sorts of sex acts, but post a clip of a TV show talking about soaking and that's, as TikTok puts it, "Nudity or Explicit Sexual Activity."
It's from the Get Shorty TV series and it's hilarious. For those who want to see it (no nudity, just talking about what soaking is), I uploaded it to Facebook before TT dropped the hammer on me.

I'm a little skeptical of jump-humping. Soaking--maybe? Maybe.
I first learned about jump-humping (a variation of soaking) from a FB post by LHP. She got some push back on it including some skepticism from me. But she did share that LDS people do have some twisted views on sex that even carry over with ExMos. And I do believe that there is truth in that. So, I am slightly less skeptical than I was at first but still lean towards it being BYU folklore.

If I remember correctly, when this "new" jumping thing came up in the last little while, there were lots of folks over on some Red-type message board who "knew" someone who had tried soaking. I don't remember any first-had accounts. Same with the "trip to Vegas, get married, have sex, get the marriage annulled." Lots of people "know someone" who most definitely did that, but again: No first-hand accounts.
So I'll remain Skeptical, and call it all MORMoN Urban Legend.
It is hilarious that it is actually "in the news." I'm pretty sure that MORmONism isn't the only fundamentalist-type high-demand religion that invents this sort of kookiness.

I heard that Mormon kids on the California coast wait for earthquakes before they soak.
Then there was that one couple in Southern Utah who were soaking in the back of their friend's Hummer while he went off-roading. He rolled it on a 400% grade and they were thrown out. They rolled down the hill, still soaking, and survived without any broken bones! Not only that, but I heard they rolled over a cactus bed while soaking and the only places they got scratched were where their garments weren't covering them.

Early 90’s there was House of Pain.
Now it makes sense that song rang through the halls of Helaman on repeat!
Pack it up, pack it in, let me begin
I came to win, battle me that's a sin
(Snip)
I came to get down, I came to get down
So get out your seat and jump around!
Jump around!
Jump around!
Jump around!
Jump up, jump up and get down!
Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump! (Everybody jump)
Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!
Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump! (Everybody jump)
Jump! Jump! Jump! Jump!
Jump!

I had no idea that song had such strong sexual overtones.
Wait,
