The Mormon church chipped in $250 million for the settlement that will go to all of the victims of scouting.

If only there was a power of discernment that could've let the church leaders know who not to leave in charge of these children or a prophet, seer, and revelator that could've put an end to the program before it was abused.

“ "The only winners in this latest proposal are the Boy Scouts, their local councils, the Mormon Church, and the Hartford insurance company," Michael Pfau, an attorney whose firm represents more than 1,000 abuse claimants in the bankruptcy, said in a prepared statement.

"The Boy Scouts are offering abuse survivors a fraction of what their cases are worth and the assets available to pay them," Pfau added. "The Mormon church is reported to have roughly $100 billion in assets, but it is offering a paltry $250 million to compensate the thousands of abuse survivors who were abused in Mormon Boy Scout troops by Mormon Scout leaders."

Long ago the church knew this day would come.

They’ve known for years that numerous children were being abused by their scout leaders, their bishops, their primary teachers.

They’ve known.

They’ve ignored allegations. They’ve hidden stories. They’ve paid out undisclosed out of court settlements as soon as the ink in the NDA dries.

The church has known all along they are complicit in covering up abuse within the church.

$250 million is peanuts to the organization.
$250 million is a few construction projects.
$250 million is a pay out without admitting wrong doing and taking blame and accountability.

Fnck the Mormon church!

The church makes on average $27 million dollars EVERY DAY in gains alone from their investment fund.

The $250 settlement isn't even 10 days of gains on their investment fund - it's nothing to them.

$250 million works out to approximately $250,000 per victim if you round things out.

$250,000 for an avoidable tragedy that has lifelong consequences.

Let's see.... isn't appropriate restitution supposed to be one of the principles of true repentance that the Corp adamantly teaches is so necessary?

The more I look at the church's modus operandi, the more I see the "Do as I say, not as I do" practice in action.

It's so sickening what has happened. While the church was spending all their might, mind, energy, strength and $$$$$ attacking LGBTQIA+ people they allowed child abuse to occur in their care and midst. They even framed them as the one's we should be worried about. It's so sad.

The Church wouldn't have even needed a prophet, seer, and revelator to avoid this mess - all that would have been required is genuine concern for the members. In each of the churches and other organizations where there have been high profile cases, the common thread that runs through all is prioritizing the image of the organization at the expense of the safety of the members.

The amount of abuse it was willing to cover up is one more evidence among many that the Church couldn't care less about its members, other than that they serve as worker bees and tithe payers. If God exists and had a Church, it would be one that shows a hell of a lot more concern for its members than this one does.

$250 M is a mere 5.54 DAYS worth of income at Ensign Peak Investors. It's nothing for the church. It's a very cheap way for them to buy the silence of many of their victims.

They guy who abused my kids is in jail, we never recieved one cent and never will. We are lucky he is in jail *without probation under Jessica's law). Most never receive anything, most abusers are never brought to justice.

No one is "called by God"

No one has authority over another.

When everyone sustains callings in front of their abuse victims - it is not "just one bad apple". It is every person who raised their hand in support of him, every person who patted them on the back, every person who taught children "men are protectors", every person who taught kids all they needed was prayer.

It is not just a few bad apples, it is the great and spacious building of corruption built on foundation of abuse and adultery and pedophiles.
