Bopping with Backyard Professor

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Bopping with Backyard Professor

Post by moksha »

Kerry Shirts didn't just burst onto the scene, he has been around for years. At FAIR, on Mormon Discussions, NOM, the chess world, and the wilderness of Idaho. He is quite an intellectual and in this video will be discussing the views of Thomas Riskas and Mormonism:

Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

This was pretty good (at least the first half which I watched). It's almost shocking to think that Mormonism posits to have the answer to much of theism's problem with infinite regress. I wonder what I would have thought as a believer if someone really got me to think about it. Would I have been honest enough with myself to realize that it makes no sense? Probably not. I can almost hear myself thinking, "If you can't understand it, don't worry, it's not important to your salvation. Just have faith."
