I really enjoyed this one, also.
I have to get this out of my system. Citizens United did not decide that "money = speech." That was Buckley v. Valeo back in 1976. Citizens United decided that "corporation = person." Get your pithy aphorisms associated with the right court cases, everyone.
John Larsen is a master of pointing out the absurdity of many arguments made by the neo-apologists. He does not leave room for bad arguments even as he asserts his kinship with everyone, especially those he disagrees with. I love his attitude.

This is the first I'm seeing John Larsen. He's a treasure. I'd attend another PH meeting if he were there.

That was his old podcast (I can't tell if you meant this is the first you've ever heard of him or first time you've seen him on a video). Somehow that was one of the first podcasts I came across 3 years ago even though it was long over and I must say I loved that was he was willing to swear/laugh about this stuff...
I listened to this podcast today while working and it was great - it really shows how ridiculous the idea that the church can separate themselves from the racism of the church without disavowing their own scriptures.

I’d pay for a John Larsen and RFM podcast.
That would be awesome!

I do miss John Larsen's old podcast. I did not discover them until long after they went off the air. But once I found them, I binged my way through them pretty fast. I need to push this MS episode up in my queue and possibly review the greatest hits of Mormon Expressions.
Thanks for the heads up, Hagoth!

That podcast was the right place at the right time for me when I was tumbling down the rabbit hole. I have very special memories of feeling a warm tingling wash over me to the sound of "♫ ♪ all eyes are on us now... ♪ ♫" while bike commuting to work. Food for a hungry man.

This was almost on the order of a Kerry Shirts interview. I hope that women becomes a regular on John Dehlin's show.

She is going to be a co-host going forward with Mormon Stories, so I assume you'll hear more from her as they go.

Those tik tok videos they do together are so cringe. Dehlin looks like an old worn out evangelical anti Mormon trying to be a young tech savvy hipster.
She probably thinks her exposure level needs Dehlin. He probably thinks his exposure level needs youth.
Anyone else think John Larsen looks like Rock Waterman and Elder Rasband had a baby?

I think that's just it - I think John knows his audience and knows that he's not reaching the younger members with posting episodes as Youtube videos so he's trying to find ways to expand that to TikTok. I actually think the Mormon Stories clips they put up on there are really effective - just 1-3 minute clips of previous interviews.
It's a tough medium to do scripted videos between two generations - I've seen a lot of people do videos with their parents/grandparents and they usually come off so clunky... but they're having success on the Mormon Stories channel (they said on Larsen's episode they just crossed 50,000 followers) so I guess that it's working overall?

How do you reach a generation trained with 15-second attention spans?

You have to be understand the art of being a content ninja. I am nowhere near that level but I'm trying to get more succinct with this stuff so maybe, just maybe, it will be easier for people to consume that don't want to read through 10,000 word overviews.
