Has anyone here been able to view membership records and annotations?
I know that my pedophile BIL was not annotated even though he was caught in the act of molesting a primary child from the ward.
There is an exmo on some of the facebook groups claiming to have seen her record and the annotations "from birth on" including false information, information stating that anyone who has resigned is has "legal issues" and annotation of family members records if you have apostatized. She claims to have an attorney who has agreed to take on a class action lawsuit to get the church to remove/destroy these files.
Based on what happened to McKenna Denson with her sealed adoption, and based on the history of the SCMC, it sounds plausible, but it also sounds rather tedious to do this for the average member.
I have reason to believe my bishop from many years ago had some sort of issue with me that never made sense, back when I was VERY church broke. If there was some kind of "blip" on my record it would make sense how he treated me in some instances, however. There are two things I can think of--one being that a well connected in the church family member spread a juicy lie about me at one point, and very minor sin I confessed that did not result in any sort of discipline.
Just curious if any of the NOMies have seen the annotations and what they may have included. Are they truly only for homosexuals and pedophiles, or do they get into the mundane records of regular old Mormons?

From what I've read, army discharge papers would sometimes contain false discharge information based on the maliciousness of those issuing the discharge papers. Could such maliciousness make its way into Church records? Of course, but what records are kept?
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

I no longer get asked to pray, speak, or teach. If that's because an annotation it's fine by me.

Bishops pass on a lot of “confidential” information when you change wards or change bishops. The membership records of the victims of sexual abuse are not supposed to be annotated, just the offender’s. But apparently they thought it somehow was information my next bishop would need to know, so rather than respecting my privacy, it was passed on from one bishop to the next for at least six bishops. (We moved a lot while DH was active duty military) now I have no idea who my bishop is let alone if they are still passing on what amounts to gossip. Just one more reason to quit going, there is zero respect for an individual’s right to confidentially, unless you are the offender. Mormon priesthood take the championship in gossip away from the little old ladies.

Just want to take the opportunity to quote a formerly more active NOM which relates to this thread:
