The old board had a tithing sticky with great instructions on how to set up confidential payments (essentially for those who would like to pay less than the bishop thinks is acceptable). Could someone walk me through getting that set up?

It's a simple process. You need to have a bank or credit union that can do online billpay (which should be everybody these days). You email donations@ldschurch.org and request instructions to setup billpay with your specific bank. They will email the instructions, you setup the billpay on your banks website, then do a test per the instructions and you're good to go.

They email you monthly and yearly statements showing your donation totals. No payments are seen by the local unit. One thing to be aware of is fast offerings go directly to Salt Lake rather than your local unit if you use this method for that type of donation.

I believe the default now is to allow your local unit to see the donation amounts. You have to contact the finance department and specifically request them to be kept confidential.
