Another new church speaks of God the Mother
http://english.watv.org/ I saw an ad in today's Deseret News which speaks of the "World Mission Society Church of God" which is growing "by leaps and bounds." It's advertised as going from 4000,000 members in 2001 to a present membership of 3 million. They advertise in Deseret News so how bad could it be.
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

Church websites are a real turn off for me any longer. I still retain some basic faith, but this church has a weird vibe to me.

They say that Abraham represents God, and yeah I can buy that because of the sacrifice of the beloved son bit. And Sarah represents mother in Heaven because she was free and Hagar was a slave. And Mother in Heaven is free. Eh. The Bible says all are alike unto God, both bond and free. So, weak theory as to why Isaac rather than Ishmael was the heir. Of course Mother God is free. She is God.
I like Margaret Toscano’s theory on why Isaac could be heir better. But then she was excommunicated for suggesting that priesthood was passed on through the mother’s line, not the father. After all, why did Abraham have to send his servant back to his home country to find a proper wife for Isaac? It was all about who the mother was, and an Egyptian like Hagar wasn’t right. In order to pass the priesthood onto to Isaac, his mother needed to have the priesthood. And Isaac needed a wife who held the priesthood. And to this day, being a Jew is passed through the mother’s line.

So they excommunicated her for saying hi to Mom, and acknowledging her, and excommunicated Gileadi for correctly identifying the significance of the Davidic Line of the Messiah, instead of the Josephite line......... sounds like someone is a little bit paranoid to me..... These Mormon leaders.......if you don't interpret it the way we do we are going to gather up our toys and go home!alas wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 1:03 am They say that Abraham represents God, and yeah I can buy that because of the sacrifice of the beloved son bit. The same energy that emerges from the fountain of eternity into time, is the Holy Grail at the center of the universe of the inexhaustible vitality in each of our hearts. The Holy Grail, like the Kingdom of God, is within. -Joseph Campbell-
