Has anyone else noticed the onslaught of church ads on the internet? Youtube, games, facebook, etc.
They are pretty good ads, in my opinion, and focus on joining us while we worship Christ. Make us better.
Are we getting back to the, "aw shucks, we're just a bunch of Christians like all ya'll, just trying to be better people" days of Tommy and Gordon?
There's nothing weird about us... only don't call us Mormons or LDS anymore... and yes, if you're gonna join us you gotta give up that coffee and green tea.. and we're going to need you to donate 10% of your income if you wanna REALLY be one of the chosen among us. But, we're just normal people trying to get better.
I think the ads are particularly designed to bring in younger people. Young families, youth, and the 20-somethings.
Have you seen these? Thoughts?

Yep I have seen a few pop up as youtube ads. Very vanilla "kids were confused about all the churches we attended before" vibe targeting young families.

No, I don't see them. Of course, I don't see many adds in general. I have some high level add blocking on my network. Adblock Plus on my browsers and a piHole on the Network. Does wonders to simplify my browsing. I also use Facebook Container to limit what FB can track from me.
Remember, those ads are based on your browsing history. So if you look at a lot of church stuff, even if it is anti, they still think you have an interet and are a target for the add.
You want to be a thorn in the church's side, click on those ads. LDS Inc pays Google for each click they receive. So the more click, the more they have to give to Google.

Re: Onslaught of Church ads on internet
The ones that really weird me out are the ones from Book of Mormon Central. They seem more "apologist" centered rather than simply "join our church" centered. I have not seen any in a few weeks, but they were around on a couple of news sites in early October.
The #LightTheWorld campaign starts now and that will be all over for the next month. Second hour of church on Sunday (Nov 17) was taken over by a meeting for all youth and adults about the campaign. It felt more corporate than usual and we got to see the new ads which are just begging to get parodied on our favorite apostate forums.
We also got to see a new nativity video which was less music video than previous versions. It does include the magi from the east vising a three year old Jesus rather than when he was a baby. The production values were high and the actors for Joseph, Mary, and Jesus looked more Middle Eastern than usual. One of the magi is a bald guy who looks like he might be righteous brother of "Mola Ram" from "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"

I personally haven't seen any of these ads on redtube or youporn.

I used to see them on Instagram because I followed some mormon meme feeds, but then I unfollowed those. I think what really helped was to click on the dots for those add and tell ID they are not relevant. Now I don't see them anymore.
