Would the church ever change the name of BYU...?

With the church taking a new approach with its branding and all... it's got me thinking as to whether they would ever consider renaming BYU. What do you NOMers think?
Let's just say that some subgroup put together a sophisticated smear campaign against Brigham Young's (BY the man, not the BYU) character, such as his polygamy and treating many of his wives like property, racist statements (involving blood atonement), questionable wealth obtained by using the tithing funds, Adam-God doctrine, likely involvement in the Mt Meadows Massacre, etc. Let's say the group requested/demanded that the BYU be re-named to honor the actual person largely responsible from the very beginning (Karl G. Maeser; how does KGMU sound?).
How would the church react? Think they'd change the name? Maybe it would be a fool-hardy endeavor because the church doesn't like to be told what to do, but maybe through other means would do it themselves...

I don't see it happening since the brand is so entrenched and all the kids including my own run around in Y shirts and hats. Brigham seems to have more obscurity even with his controversial history.

It kind of seems like BYU is disconnected from the man, even though it bears his name.

It will happen eventually.
New name ideas:
WHY
LDS University
Nelson University
The University of Bednar
Saints University
University of Morality
Congregationalist University of Mormonism
The Apostle’s University*
The Lord’s University
The University of the Lord**
Temple University***
*where relatives attend for free!
** not to be confused with The House of the Lord aka the Temple.
*** after buyout and conversion of Temple University.

Nope, they never will. Members have this ridiculous idea that the name BYU carries a lot of prestige and is well respected in the world (it is the Harvard of the West, after all), when most of the world actually doesn’t see it much differently than Oral Roberts University. But because they think it is so impressive, they aren’t going to rebrand anytime soon.

The name is a national well known brand at this point. And there is nothing "negative" about the name from an outsiders perspective, except for the fact that it's linked to the LDS church.
What BYU should REALLY do is look into changing their ridiculous honor code.

They will just keep reinventing the man, like when they changed his quote about "wives" to "wife" in the lesson manual

By calling it BYU, the “Y”, or even Brigham Young University, we are giving Satan another victory. We need to return to the name originally given by the Lord, to the prophet, and refer to it as, Even the Brigham Young Academy. This pleases the founder.
On an interesting side note, Young broke the school off from the University of Deseret (now the Univ. Of Utah) and named it after himself. I guess by breaking off from the original university in the territory, that would make Even the Brigham Young Academy an apostate school by definition.
