It seems such a shame that Joseph never had time to fully translate (channel) and publish the Book of Zelph from these Kinderhook Plates. It would have enriched the Mormon canon and provided a scriptural basis for using the right hand only for taking the Sacrament and for sustaining purposes.
The story of how Nephite maidens, such as Helenumtumr, earned eternal Celestial glory for their families by giving themselves to God's chosen prophet would have been most instructive for the daughters of Zion.

Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Weren't they supposed to talk about the descendants of Ham? Perhaps they would clarify why the bishop takes the sacrament first and apostles stand first at the end of the meeting. I am sure these souls always wore white shirts to church as they tried to overcome their fallen state.

Are you talking about Spam, Bratwurst, Bacon, and Bacon's Canadian cousin?

Re: Thoughts on the Kinderhook Plates
Wouldn't it be amazing if we had that translation? It would serve two purposes. For doubters it would be a smoking gun that Joseph was pulling it out of the nether regions. For apologists it would be further proof that "translate" doesn't mean translate, and would dilute some of the force created by that sucking hole of logic coming from the direction of the Book of Abraham.
Here's a thought. Maybe the church should just accept the Voorie Plates, the Michigan Relics, and similar artifacts that so many Mormons have believed in and take an "it's all good" attitude.
