Rumor has it

A new temple video will be released in early January.
Anyone heard this? The MoFems are excited thinking the hearken covenant will be removed and some other mysogyny.
I think it's gross, because if they do, more gaslighting? More proof they charge the rules to appease the masses?
And I can't go back to it, but there's part of me thinking it would have been nice if they'd fixed some things before my whole paradigm was busted wide open.
So what, more of my family will stay, because God is fixing the problems? More amazing and timely revelations? More inability to understand why those of us sifted out couldn't hang on a little longer?
It's gross all around. I'm glad if SLC is crapping their pants, but if they appease people there won't be enough agitation for actual institutional honesty.

That would be novel. I have not seen all three of the current set of movies. If true, this will be interesting because Nelson has shown a remarkable ability to upend tradition that is bordering on admirable. Plus, we know how much effort it takes to get anything changed in the church and I have to give credit to him on a project that would have taken months. We will also start to see the full picture of what Nelson fully believes if a new temple video is actually released.

Maybe it's revelation from the prophetess Wendy.

Rumor has it it will still suck!
I can predict the reviews now!
Critics gave it 2 stars stating the plot had potential but fell short of doctrinal expectations leaving viewers scratching their riveted forehead wondering what the hell that was all about?
Mormons gave it 5 stars stating the plot was warm, simple, and familiar leaving the viewer with eternal comfort knowing the church was true, the gospel is wonderful, and the Prophet inspired!

On Reddit the rumor is different: shorter endowment ceremony, possibly so they can gloss over problematic things?

A few rumors I have heard or just made up myself:
Problem to solve: fewer people going to temple
1) temple session will be cut to just one hour.
2) Utah Jazz girls will be brought in to perform just before the veil
3) To make the movie more authentic, Eve will be played by a 14 year old girl.
4) to get more guys out, there will be boobies in the film now.
5) To get bishops, mission presidents, MTC Presidents, and other GAs out, the boobies will be from the 14 year old girl.
6) They will hand out a remote control to the guy playing Adam, who can fast forward the film as desired.
7) Women will be able to sit next to their husband.
8) A TV will be added on the sides showing sporting events, so people won’t have to choose between temple or sports.
9) An intermission will be added and drinks and snacks will be available (for purchase of course)
10) People can be married civilly and then go to temple when they want to be sealed.

I think the gaslighting will be continuing for the foreseeable future. Just like you said, Thoughtful, everyone will say that God is solving the problems just like Elder Ballard said a few conferences ago. That statement stuck out to me. I think it was soon after the November policy leaked. That stuck in my head. When he said it, I wanted to know why men who speak with God can't fix the problems more quickly. I need to prepare for a new round of this stuff.

Yep. It's exhausting. And it's always framed to discredit people who called BS and bailed on their nonsense.

1-This may be likely, or even shorter according to rumors.
2-Doubt it, lol
3-Some people already complained that one of the last batch of new movies is "pornographic" according to a temple worker I know.
6-Maybe just a veil ceremony?
7-That one would go over well I think
10-Too expensive, not gonna happen

Here's the real problem.
The idea of having a prophet a.k.a. Joseph Smith to begin with was to have the pure and simple Gospel restored in the first place.
By definition there weren't supposed to be any problems. He was restoring the pure and perfect Gospel.
If not, how could anyone be sure that salvation was truly available through his teachings???
I know..... present day leaders want us to believe they're just "tweaking" things a little. But they are supposed to be receiving revelation for OUR day.
Instead they're going backwards trying to patch up a system that was screwed up from the beginning of it's inception.
So no matter how much they try to soften the doctrine or mainstream the church they are seen by the outside world to be admitting that the original doctrines and covenants were dissatisfactory and in error.
Essentially they are "Steadying the Ark" that Joseph himself said was perfect and needed no changes.

I haven't seen any of the new films since I stopped going about ten years ago. I can only think they must be showing something like one inch below the armpit on Eve?
Can't imagine them showing something more than that.

There's one part where naked Eve and naked Adam embrace, obviously there's foliage in the way.
Someone was absolutely distraught in the C room that the church would put porn in the temple. Made a scene.

Ahh....I see.
Well, I suppose it would have helped if Eve had given Adam a slap on the face and said, "Naughty, naughty.....not while that guy with the camera over there is still filming....."

To play A&E you do have to be endowed and sealed married couple. What's the big deal? Lol.

Maybe they couldn't see if Adam was truly endowed.

Heaven forbid that two people would have SEX!...in a GARDEN!....
You know, sarcasm aside, I know LDS families where you would get slapped if you ever said the word 'sex'. And the church wonders why divorce flourishes in the ranks?
This is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. But it is in character for so many!

It's worth being clear on what would be a realistic acceptable attitude from the church that accompanies a change like this.
My answer is the same as it is with the release of
Saints: humility instead of grandstanding ("I'm so humbled that the church is the greatest" doesn't count) and a move toward reconciliation with those driven away. And if church leaders aren't doing this, dear Mormons (hint: they aren't) then it's up to you.
