Just smile and wave

So my SIL got married last Friday and Saturday.
Friday at City Hall, and Saturday in the Temple.
Being a good LDS girl, marrying an RM in the Temple put her in my MIL´s good graces, so our 18 year tenure as top-couple is over.
I am part of the only other MIT-coupl4e, but I didn+t serve, and am pretty open about my views about Church. Displeases MIL a lot.
But I digress......
So you have 2 kids, getting married, without cash. Both a bit........ we would say Contactgestoord, ie a sociopath.
I have no other way of putting it, my new BIL is rather autistic, and SIL is quite timid, silent, to herself and a lousy organiser to boot.
He has a job as a computerprogrammer, and she never had a job. So money was tight.
Depsite having less than 3K they already both paid the weddinggown+suit+honeymoon. Leaving a mere pittance to organise the diner + party.
So 17 days before the big day my MIL contacted me: Could I please, please draw all my resources together and set-up a complete full-blown wedding.
Well, with a severe bout of chargin I did what I could, but: with virtually no cash it´s hard.
So in the end.............. it fell apart.
100 people were invited for cityhall + the diner.
500 people were invited for the party.
So we made food for all these people, drinks, snack, the whole lot.
And in the end, 32 people attended at Cityhall.
And 34 at Dinner.
The party had 120 visitors.
The amount of food thrown away was obscene. Most of the drinks were untouched and brought back to the store to be refunded.
The next day at the sealing they invited 30 people, 12 turned up.
Mormons, they say they will attend, but in the end it´s just like the hometeachers......... they don´t.
Its good to know who your friends are, then again I was not surprised.
Maybe the couple was very naive, or maybe I am cynical.
