Hi!
I'm Ben, essentially 100% non-practicing since January 2017, DW is vaguely orthoprax but a questioner too. Three kids, making things work so far, but it's actually been pretty hard relationship-wise (I was questioning / less-active since well before she started doing serious questioning). I wouldn't say my "shelf broke" so much as it gradually faded from existence over the course of a decade, but one of the turning points was Dehlin's why people leave discourse. I consider myself an atheist at this point (DW is *definitely* not), and my politics changed a lot at the same time. I gradually went from a disengaged republican to an anarcho-communist organizing with Democratic Socialists of America over a slightly longer span than my faith change. (the user name is a short form of my Twitter bio: "profit-seizer and revelator" thought y'all would appreciate the pun.)
I've got a crew of NOM-esque people we call the "Rogue Elders' Quorum" that meets at a local pub when we can. (I still haven't done the drinking yet, but I have tried coffee. And folks, I have to say: I freaking hate it.) One time we pruned the rosebushes at an old meetinghouse because the newly-reorganized ward couldn't get its act together, so I guess we have a community service arm.
Anyhow, hmu if you are Portland-area, leftist, or in a mixed-marriage with another questioner and have advice on how not to explode. (I'll probably post in that channel too because it's pretty wild over here just at the moment.)
