BCC with another smackdown of the church on the ban on blacks - why the church is losing the youth

The younger members who are still open to learning about the church just aren't buying the whitewashed history. They might not all leave, but pieces like the recent ones from bycommonconsent make it very clear the church is getting on shakier ground than ever before. I love seeing it because it gives me hope that morewill begin to at least question the insane history that they teach.

Here's the latest piece about the ban: https://bycommonconsent.com/2018/05/27/ ... gods-will/

Thanks for reminding us that when the truth isn't expedient for the LDS Church, the church goes with what is expedient rather than what is true. I think it is entirely reasonable that the very human General authorities would rather try to "fool some of the people all of the time" (Lincoln) than truly seek after the truth.

BCC is one of the sites that took me down the rabbit hole. I haven't been active on that site in about 3 years. Looks like they have become even more questioning about the church. Kinda surprised. I remeber it being more conservative and supportive of the leadership.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm shocked by this too; it was a more liberal blog, but never went into questioning territory that much. But lately it seems to have branched out.

And reading Daymon Smith's series on correlation in the BCC was a revelation to me during my "questioning" period. So I have fond memories of the place, while like you, not visiting it too often lately. I may have to rethink that. A great piece on the priesthood ban, by the way.
