Ancient Horse Found in Lehi

A Utah family working on a landscaping project unearthed the fossil remains of an ancient horse. So they called Rick Hunter, the Paleontologist for the Ancient Life Museum at Thanksgiving Point.
The ancient horse is nearly 16,000 years old. Paleontologists identified the skeleton of a horse from the ice age in Lehi, Utah — a particularly unusual discovery given that much of the western part of the state was underwater until about 14,000 years ago.
The fossilized skeleton will go on display at the Thanksgiving Point Utah museum. No word was given as to whether this ancient horse may have been an ancestor of the Mesoamerican tapirs from the Book of Mormon.

BTW, this is being discussed on the Mormon D&D board because their tubers quiver anytime something remotely sounding like corroborating evidence for the Book of Mormon is mentioned.
