This article "First Presidency Issues Important Statement Following Yesterday's Election" showed up in my Facebook feed. I had to take a look - God's mouthpieces, His representatives on Earth, the ones to reveal the mind of the Almighty with its all-knowingness and far-seeingness, these very prophets, seers, and revelators have a message for us. What kind of important truth hitherto unrevealed, what sort of prognostications that might warn us of the future, what manner of divine and holy message might these divine and holy messengers have for us? Well here it is:

Important? Really? That's all they've got? What they said is the same thing I'm hearing from everybody else. Heck, President Obama was a whole lot more eloquent about it than these "prophets, seers, and revelators". A little guidance from them on who God wanted as President before the election might have come in handy, but this - this is pretty much worthless.
"BE SURE AND DRINK YOUR OVALTINE". That's about all we get from them.

Sorry to rant, but I mean really - if you are going to insist on being called "prophets, seers, and revelators", either prophesy, see, and revelate once in a while or be quiet about it.

Let's give Brother Quote-Writer a break. All he is trying to do is save sacred tithing dollars. See, if the FP had a statement written for them that was specific to the election then it could only be used once. Brother Quote-Writer is setting things up so a volunteer senior missionary can simply change Hillary''s name to whoever Donald runs against in 4 years so they can recycle the statement for the next time.

So revelatory. So profound.
I can't believe people hang on their every words. Well, I can, but it stinks to know it's true.
They really should get some better speech writers.

Yeah, the statement is worthless, a real non-inspiration. But, there are some nuggets in the comments:
"Thank you First Presidency for issuing your statement. I prayed long and hard before I entered the voting booth yesterday. My conscience would not allow me to vote for Mr. Trump, but my morals and beliefs are conservative and in line with the Republican platform, so I voted straight party ticket (yes, which did include Mr. Trump)."
And doesn't that just perfectly sum up the per ado Mormon who can't think for themselves or bother to get educated? Also, what is the difference between her conscience, morals and beliefs? Seems to be some conflict of interest there. Did she Trump her light of Christ with her morals and beliefs?

“Sir,' I said to the universe, 'I exist.' 'That,' said the universe, 'creates no sense of obligation in me whatsoever.”
