Which makes this all the more strange when RMN says his little schpeal about knowing all about her then saying "now what was your question". It's almost like he recited a planned response to PFS then forget what her question was because he was focused on repeating the planned statement.

Which only reinforces just how much DHO is pulling the strings if there is anything of substance to that 'Ahem' in the video.

I don't think this press conference was fully scripted nor fully unscripted.

That's really weird. I'm not sure how to interpret what is going on without sounding like a conspiracy theorist or completely missing the point.

wow, that was really odd. I am not sure what to make of it.

Best guess: President Nelson no longer has the mental faculties to speak extemporaneously, so President Oaks helped him write and memorize his answers. The news conference was a show of strength.

I'm not starting Conspiracy Theories, I don't think the Q15 and the COB are that bright. They're reactive, not proactive.
This is just bizarre, especially when coupled with RMN forgetting Peggy's question then the other video of Oaks "coughing" and correcting RMN.

Assuming there was no electronic puppeteering going on, will the Oaks receiver picking up the Nelson transmission due to a signal crossover in the control booth, the simplest explanation is that Oaks was reading from the same teleprompter.

Reportedly there were not any teleprompters in the room, which does seem to be the case from watching the video. And this was during the Q&A section of the press conference so they shouldn't have been just reading off scripted answers.

But if they knew in advance who the questioners were but not the questions they could've scripted and memorized the little intro bits about the questioner and then handled the question itself extemporaneously. That scenario does seem to match the behavior pretty well.

They probably weren't reading off a teleprompter during the Q&A session but it felt like they were reading off one for their opening remarks immediately prior to opening the session up to questions from the press.

That awkward silence between the person at the podium turning the time over to Nelson and when Nelson begins to speak. Perhaps waiting for a teleprompter to start. There was also an audible beep, maybe they were waiting for that beep to indicate that the camera was ready.

Little halts in speech that usually happen when you're reading as opposed to speaking off the cuff. Or maybe those pauses are from being 93.
Compare this to the Q&A sessions where the speech feels more fluid.

I think they read off a teleprompter for their opening remarks but by the time the Q&A session started they were speaking without a written statement but perhaps with well rehearsed answers.

There was a teleprompter though. Who used it (the guy directing the meeting, the FP, both) and when (during the opening statements only) is up for debate, but there's an image of the teleprompter.

You can see the teleprompter on the left side of the photo at the press conference. It sort of looks like Paul Rolly sitting in front of it.

I'm guessing teleprompters at press conferences are not typical. I mean, Trump, Obama, Bush etc. never used them, right?

It does seem a bit unusual at a question and answer session. BTW, Trump frequently flubs up reading words on a teleprompter. I think that is why he frequently wings it and ends up repeating phrases and tangentially jumping from topic to topic.

I would not mind it if Trump occasionally broke into song as an alternative to speaking.
