He said he needs something that won't give him so many sores. He's not heading for distribution services.

He bought some basic boxers, I was hoping he would venture into the world of awesome fabrics and find something he won't ever want to give up.
Today I'm home from church with flu and was hoping for some alone time. He and the kids stayed home to bother me instead.

I'm a briefs guy myself.
I like these for hot sweaty days:

I like a lot of the new materials in the sporty briefs that wick the moisture, usually a cotton/poly mix, very comfortable.
I hope he converts, it's a great step in the direction of total freedom.

How do you associate briefs with total freedom?
Of course, nothing presents the most freedom, but briefs have a decided lack of freedom.

Total freedom would be going commando under a kilt. That might not fly with the dress code at my office or my ward. That said, the eternal debate o of briefs vs. boxers will go on.
It's a good move for the Thoughtful's spouseman. I hope it's not too creepy that we are all interested in the underpants evolution of an otherwise total stranger.

I bought some really nice athletic mesh boxer briefs for my son, thought spouseman would go for something like that.
I'll have to ask him how things are hanging with the new roos.

LOL! Point taken Jeffret. Perhaps I like to be the master of my own domain?

Oh, it's creepy all right. It's regular old mormon creepy, which unfortunately, I think we're all a bit too accustomed to...

I would suggest you help him with some shopping. Point out what would look good on him and express what they do for you. Maybe pick out a few for him, once you know the size.
