LDS Factoids

In 2007, approximately 30% of all 19-year-old LDS men became Mormon missionaries; from LDS families that are active in the church, approximately 80–90% of 19-year-old men serve a mission
.
So, 70% of the young LDS men do not become missionaries, but of the 30% that do become missionaries at least 8 out of 10 are from active LDS families. Well, that was interesting and straight from LDS.org.

Do you have any interesting LDS factoids to share?

Is there a difference between fun facts and factoids??

Anyways...Fun fact:

The Mormon newsroom reports 195,180 members live in the country of Canada (that's it?!? Roughly 1.2% of total church membership).

Of those members 81,160 live in the province of Alberta (roughly 42% of all Canadian members but only 0.5% of membership worldwide)

Mormons make up 0.5% of the Canadian population and 2% of the Albertan population.

Fun facts!

So, I guess that points to a 36% activity rate among males in that age group?

0% of the FP, Q12, and Qof70's have a vagina.

Of those men noted above, 36% might have actually seen one in their lifetime.

Of those men mentioned, 36% have a priesthood antenna, the rest just are one.

This is more hilarious than you might suspect. A signifcant portion of Mormons in the the 1800s and early 1900s were convinced that they should never fully take off their garments even for bathing or marital intimacy. This led to many awkward and regular interactions. I had some elderly relatives that would have been 100 if they were still alive. I was assured by some slightly younger relatives that at least one old couple had likely never seen each other "in the buff." They did have a bunch of children probably by, uh, "conversing with the spouse through the veil." They ended up as mission presidents and temple sealers in the 1970s and I would not be surprised to find that they got the Second Anointing.

99% of those who have received the 2nd anointing and stayed TBM believe it gives them additional powers of discernment, including a form of gaydar.

Total percentage of humans baptized into the one and only true church on the Earth, in the last dispensation of time, in the final minutes of 11th hour:
0.209%

God really loves ALL of his children...at least a few super special ones.

I used to sit next to a very nice ultra-TBM guy on the bus. One day I had an art book and he asked if he could look at it. He pointed at a painting of a nude woman that he came across and asked "is that what they really look like?" I said, "Yeah, pretty much." He sat quietly for a few seconds and then said, "well, I have seen Splash." (the mermaid movie with Daryl Hanna)

He had 8 kids.

Is this how Elder Bednar determined that there are no homosexual members of the church?

Factoid: If you are a non-mormon, ex-mormon, non-believing-mormon (you get the picture,) who enjoys mild barely drinks, and you take one believing mormon fishing with you, that one mormon will drink all of your beer.
