I wonder what kind of system the church has to keep an eye on Wikipedia articles. Someone on Reddit posted that they had update the Wikipedia article about the Kirtland Safety Society to include the quote from Joseph Smith claiming that his would be the only successful bank and that it would swallow up all other banks. That quote was ripped out within an hour.

I noticed the Painesville Republican of Feb. 15, 1838 records Warren Parrish's letter on the banking society.

What would be the justification of removing the Warren Parrish quote (which contains Parrish quoting Smith as noted above), I wonder?

You all think its the HQ doing instigating some of this editorial shenanigans, or you think its just some crazed die-hard taking it upon him/her self to modify history?

I believe it's FAIR apologists that keep an eye on all LDS Wikipedia pages.

The LDS Church is taking a page from the playbook of their Scientology brethren but in a more technically sophisticated and well-missionaried way. From reordering what appears on your Google search page to Wikipedia entries the Church is very effective.

It is amazing how the entries regarding Bruce R. McConkie have varied over the years.

Both. Some quasi-official church organizations such a FAIRMormon also lend their help in making sure a faith-promoting message is given.

Wow. What an interesting letter. It pretty much confirms a great deal that I have thought about Joseph and his cronies. Power and money seem to be the driving force motivating their doctrines and actions.
