And I thought I was done posting church nonsense this morning. Should have stayed off Sister M's Facebook account.

Seriously.
They should change it so instead of publicizing the good they themselves, or church members do they look for ways other people #lighttheworld. Then we get the feels of the season without the ulterior motive and snobbishness we usually see from the church.

I imagine there will be more and more of these kinds of things to work up the faithful into an obedient frenzy. It IS the last days after all and the work of separating the wheat from the tares must be hastened.
In the early days, mormons had to keep a low profile to avoid lynching. In the BY days it must have just been embarrassing, to be associated with all the polygamy scandalous goings on. Now that we have had GBH and even our beloved TSM, the church appears more mainstream; enough to come out of the closet and become a celebrity on the religious world stage.
To me it would be embarrassing again, but now I just reach for the popcorn and enjoy the show.
The mormons are going to morm.

The
calendar they are putting out this year is innocuous enough. It's 22 days of New Testatment platitudes, with most scriptures coming from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew. Then the Book of Mormon is casually inserted on December 17, 22 and 24. This roadblock will probably make this advent calendar verboten in the homes of Evangelicals (and most other Christians).

Do they even talk about the last days and Jesus' upcoming return? I don't think I've heard it for a long time. (Granted, I missed most of the Sunday Gen Conf and haven't been to a three hour block for 2 or 3 years.)
