How much do you want to bet that the person who wrote this ad is named Nephi? (See 2 Nephi 5; 2 Nephi 30; 3 Nephi 2)

3 Nephi 2:14-16 wrote:14 And it came to pass that those Lamanites who had united with the Nephites were numbered among the Nephites;
15 And their curse was taken from them, and their skin became white like unto the Nephites;
16 And their young men and their daughters became exceedingly fair, and they were numbered among the Nephites, and were called Nephites. And thus ended the thirteenth year.

And yet, it's basically a video depiction of what the keystone of our religion teaches -- and that's even after they tried to soften up the language in 1981.

It's a shame SWK didn't live to see this day.

Should have been the BoM, not Dove soap, that caused that change. [/sarcasm]

What an incredibly offensive ad. Now all Dove needs to do is shame all those who stop buying their products, because they took offense and found the truth to be hard.

“The short video was intended to convey that Dove body wash is for every woman and be a celebration of diversity, but we got it wrong,” the brand said Monday in a statement to Reuters.
Sometimes I think people just like to stir the pot. to be fair the full ad (which can be found in that same article) actually featured 3 women, the white woman then pulls her shirt up to reveal a darker skinned woman, of course the only part that was shown in the initial tweet or whatever it was, was the black woman turning into a white woman. Would this have been news if the order had been reversed?

I doubt there is any truth to the rumor that this ad was produced by Bonneville Media. @Heart-Sell™

She must have laminate blood, and is becoming white and delightsome like Spencer Kimball taught.

Sheesh people, watch the whole thing. It's really not that bad.
Maybe if they used 5-6 women of different ethnicities instead of 3 it wouldn't have gotten everyone so riled up? I can see how it was misunderstood based on just the tweet which is one of the reasons twitter is the worst.
Or maybe people confused the message with this somewhat similiar yet truly racist ad??

Or, on the topic of truly gross media, how about this one released by the Daily Mail on Canadian Thanksgiving:

I guess Ben Shapiro is trying to play it off as satire. Personally I don't think it works on any level whatsoever but it does fit quite nicely into the BofM narrative.

I don't think that ad would have received such a strong reaction if it hadn't been preceded by this one:

Yeesh...I take back my weak defense of the Dove corporation's ad strategy. That one is definitely ill conceived.
