My guess is they will play it safe and maybe announce a new temple or two.
BORING!

I can't wait for the suck up 70s. They are like my favorite thing about he church right now!!

I would love to be surprised at something either great or scandalous being said at church. I will mostly pay just enough attention to get the basic idea then go back to inconveniencing various data structures (ie. "playing video games").

They will surely stick their collective foot in their mouth. They TBM faithful will see it as faith promoting while the rest of everyone else will cringe and ask if they really just said that.

I would imagine the talks will be carefully scrutinized ahead of time with the aim being to eliminate any embarrassing controversy. It's not like they have any currently serving Trump-like Authorities who will mire the Church in a vat of poop with an improvised speech.

I just hope President Uchtdorf shines through with some good stuff amid the calls for obedience, tithe monies, and the elimination of porn shoulders.

For you TV watchers, there is now no need to feel sheepish about enjoying the Conference with a Diet Coke and a big bowl of popcorn. Popcorn is no longer demonized!

They always say something cringeworthy, but the reality is most cringeworthy stuff is benign. Yes, the ExMo crowd will freak out and create 3,000 memes and say "can you believe they said that?!" while the TBM's will have no clue something was said.

I expect more of the same old reguritated Sunday school manual lines. More quoting each other. A meme on Reddit said "come see prophets, seers, and revelators do none of those things." But now that I see it all as fiction, I will find reason to be angry at 75% of what is said because of lies, bad analogies, confirmation bias, blatant contradictions, and many forms of manipulation.

I will anxiously await the talks about staying in the boat, doubting doubts, giving bro joe a break etc. though so I can tear them apart in my head. Not looking forward to this weekend. It is strange thinking back on how much I LOVED gc during my mission especially. Every talk was amazing for some reason...Now I can't get anything out of it.

Expect a few talks designed to lower your expectations about prophets, priesthood power, Brother Joseph, etc. offset by a few talks about the dangers of lowering your credulity about the very same things.
