What would convince you the Quoran was the word of God?
Can millions of Muslims be wrong?

If it featured a guy who died and was buried in NHM.

Allah showing up and showing
billions of non-Muslims that he/she/it is real.

If Mohammed rode a flying tapir instead of a donkey.
And chiasmus.

I might be too hard hearted at this point. But here's a collection of Muslim conversion stories:

I think you'll be surprised at how similar they are to Mormon conversion stories.

Wow, those conversion stories are amazing! I think I'll share them at our next FHE. And to think, not one one of them said, "Allah or the sword."
As I read these stories, and I looked up the conversion stories of other faiths as well, I am reminded of an idea I first had 40 years ago in the mission field- "What if God created/allowed different faiths to benefit different people? What if some get the most out of Catholicism, while others get the most out of the Baptists? I think it would be a tough concept to disprove.
And not to leave out rationalism (I believe rationalism should inform all our decisions)- what if we get more from using reason than using our feelings sometimes, and sometimes vice versa?

NPR ran a story about Short Creek a while ago. It featured a woman bearing her testimony of the "Lard's true work." I came in on the story right as she began to bear her testimony, and I thought for a while that NPR was doing a story on Mormon testimony meetings. I couldnt tell the difference. It had all the right quiverings of the voice in all the right places, the tears really started to flow right where you would expect, all the right shout out's to people in the audience, and then she said she was a polygamous wife and the shock was pretty strong for me.
My answer depends on how you define Word of God, but I sense that nothing short of an angel with a flaming sword could convince me.

This is a very interesting and important question! For me the honest answer is 'I don't know'. Only God knows what could convince me, so it's on him. He knows I will be skeptical of any evidence in support of such a huge claim, but luckily he will speak to according to my understanding (2ne 31:3).
I don't know that he has told me anything yet.

I had a mission comp who held a point of view like this. It bothered me at the time. I'd ask him, what if a person prayed about which religion to join, and felt like God told him to be a Muslim? His response was that the person should be a Muslim! Don't argue with God!
I wonder now if people of many or all faiths have similar experiences when something resonates deeply with them. Could it be that God is guiding them all to something that's important for them? Could it be something that is just part of natural human experience? Either of those ideas are somewhat compelling to me. I don't accept the idea, though, that God would allow these sincere people to be so completely, devastatingly deceived. I know there are arguments to be made against that, too, however. That's just me.
EDIT- You should check out the testimonies of other religions on that same site!

Ironically - I'd be convinced (or at least willing to take a closer look) if the muslim nations appeared to be a zion people.

I also don't think that God would allow the disastrous wars over religion.

Alah would have to show up and do something constructive like eliminate world hunger. Then I would at least do what he asked. Short of that he could just be an alien posing as a god

I agree. If the religion (or lack of religion)makes a society better it deserves investigation.

I don't think he would LEAD people into a disastrous war. They might get there anyway. Of course, I'm not God, so I can't really say what he would or wouldn't do.

This line of discussion reminds me of a member of NOM.1 who told the stories of two Jehovah's Witness families he taught on his mission. One family converted to Mormonism but the other didn't.
The first family became heroes to the LSD ward and villains to their kingdom Hall. The second family became villains to the LDS ward and heros to the kingdom Hall. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Hagoth- that makes me not like religion sometimes... Man, I hate that kind of crap. My Dad's family converted to Mormonism when he was a teen. Before his mission, his parents and all but one sibling left. They were then split between Mormon and Baptist. We all love each other, but there have been some really painful things involving that.

This is my best explanation of religion for believers. My heart of heart tells me it is all in our heads though. Perception is reality and powerful regardless of eternal truth.

Somehow I hope there is something there in the elephant. I have spoken to many who have had very real, powerful, and unexplained things happen. It gives me hope. I just hate all the manipulation that has occurred in the name of GOD!

I really can't imagine what could convince me of the Quran. A visit from allah wouldn't convince me of the Quran. It would convince me that allah existed but I wouldn't worship allah. I find the doctrine and precepts of the Quran repugnant.

If the preponderance of my neighbors and relatives were Muslim, I would be willing to try it out. Giving up bacon might be doable, but I would refuse any offers to join a jihad. Too bad they do not offer lounge chairs in mosques.

The six blind men of Hindustan and the elephant has always been a favorite of mine. My bias is toward Christianity with a shot of reason, and a pinch of Deism. If I'd have lived in the 1st century A.D., I would have liked to hang out on Mars hill in Athens, as depicted in Acts 17. I don't know if Paul would have convinced me, but if I had read the gospel of Luke, I'm pretty sure it would have touched my heart.
