RIGHHHT??? And makes me think if this really happened suddenly school dress codes in Utah will change. School dress codes honestly seem like trying to impose garment level modesty on kids and teens. I hate it.

I don't know. This could just be a new line of garments they will say are appropriate for working out. It's the churches way to combat the athli-leisure trends. To many TBMs are taking off their gs to hit the gym and then staying in their workout clothes and the church doesn't like that. So here comes the new athletic line of garms. It will add a whole new layer of self righteous judgment for the uber TBMs. They can give and extra judgey condescending look when they see a TBM in workout clothes that aren't garment friendly.

Of course with new workout garments, we will need new workout clothes. I'm sure some ambitious 70 is starting an MLM for workout clothes that compliment the new workout garments. He will give his new clothing line a subtle plug during this up coming general conference, where he will urge the faithful sisters of the one true church to host parties and harass their friends in the name of modesty.

As others noted on the reddit thread, the tag seems slightly different. Also, it's two different fabrics. The side/underarm is a more a mesh while the front and back are solid.

IF it's real (big if) then it appears to big geared toward athletic apparel. I'd wager it's not due to the church finally giving 2 hoots about the complaints of mommy mormon bloggers, but the result of millions of tithing dollars being spent to determine why BYU Athletics is failing and this the best solution they could come up with.

^ I think that is possible, but if it is meant for athletic wear only - I guarantee even TBM's will sport them while not exercising... there is no way they could regulate their use. In producing tank tops garments, they would be opening themselves up for that and they have got to realize it.

Only thing is a cell phone is every year. Religious updates are decades.

The stories I've heard are that these kinds of changes of get brought up frequently in the q15 committee that is in charge of these changes. But that it takes unanimous vote for the changes to go through. So you're largely waiting for the elderly people to die off and the more modern ideas to come into the group.

Maybe they'll get down to just having a knee strap and a necklace or some tattoos eventually.

If you are going that far, then maybe just get the marks tatooed on you breasts, navel, right knee so you can walk around naked. You could technically have some authorized porn with the authorized pattern.

The only change that would honestly interest me would make garments optional except for temple and church. That would at least make them match my actual garment policy at this point.
