My 18 yo son resigned all on his own

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

My 18 yo son resigned all on his own

Post by Archimedes »

My 18 year old son resigned from the church without much input or encouragement from me. I was so proud of him. When he turned 18 he mentioned he wanted to resign and i cautioned him to think it through carefully before making a decision. A month or two later he had his letter from SLC.

I still have not resigned, for some reason it feels right to me to wait until my divorce is final. Which should be within 3 to 4 weeks now. Yippee!

We had no Idea our 18-year old son was going to resign until the letter showed up. It was quite a shock to his mom.

My DS turned 14 yrs. old two weeks ago. He sent his letter in three days before his birthday. This was his doing as well. He finally got tired of waiting and I mentioned this to my wife. It took her about a week or two and a visit with her therapist to process it in her mind. She said okay and was supportive of him doing this.
