You are the beat Consiglieri. That is all!

I listed to it while trying to sleep at the airport. It was a great and totally annihilates JRH's claim of "uhhhh, that's how I heard it. It's not my fault the story was false"

I can understand this idea of information changing by the telling and the tellers. Imagine you have a group get together in Spirit Paradise where one person relates the Ascent of Mankind around the entire group circle. Such important details of the Australopithecines goes missing and mishearing the Plains of the Serengeti gets altered to Independence County, Missouri. Very understandable in a large group with the Host of Heaven playing their greatest hits in the background. Even the sad genocidal story of the Dodo, a peace loving flightless bird that was native to the island of Mauritius east of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, gets changed to be an LDS apostle.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

I can't wait to listen to this. Incidentally I came across your interview on Mormon Expression this week!

Here it is. http://mormonexpression.com/?p=720
It is seven years old now. It is interesting to listen to a lot of these podcasters over time and to hear and feel their change in perspective, and compare them to my own.
I just realised that by this standard, should we ever take something that someone said more than a year ago as representative of who they are today? It is an interesting thought to apply to GAs, lucky things, who have their words immortalised year after year on the church website. No wonder they stick to such bland topics.

Consig,
I just listened to the Dodos episode. You do such an amazing job of deconstructing these issues. I love the way you point out how this story exposes the fragility of all miracle stories, whether or not Elder Holland was an active participant in the fabrication.
And you even had a hilarious punchline. Also, thanks for playing the entire Meatloaf song.
Keep it up!

Re: Make Way for Dodos!
You are so welcome!
I riffed that line on the fly in a phone conversation with Bill and he laughed so hard I knew I had to keep it in.
Then I asked him to use the song as outro music, and I said it really needed to be the ENTIRE song!
And he did it!
Best part of the entire podcast, I think!
Bill is a great producer!
