Jesus's Castle

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

Jesus's Castle

Post by Raylan Givens »

We have now been in Salt Lake for a year. Driving on I-15 toward Lagoon, my four year old said, "there is Jesus's Castle."

My wife and I just lost it :D :D . No corrections, just the thought of how obsurd the concept is when you put it in the context that my four year did.

AWESOME! I love your little one.

That sums it up perfectly. The plebs slave away to pay taxes so jesus can build a summer castle in Upstate new york, a winter castle in Austrailia, a hunting chateau in Texas, and a hundred little mormon themed taj mahals around the world for his 100 wives.
Reading can severely damage your ignorance.

This is great. Isn't the story that BY sent some architect to Europe to study the castles to learn how to build the SLC temple?

That's funny! I had a YW teacher give a lesson on temples once where she took the castle, prince and princess idea and compared it to the temple and being worthy to go there. You might find this article interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_ar ... DS_Church). the church does go to a great deal of work to put all sorts of symbolism in the temples they built. I thought this article was pretty interesting.

While it might "look" like Jesus' Castle on the outside, it's more akin to Dracula's Castle on the inside, or the Terror Ride. (Lagoon reference for those of you outside the MorCor BUBBLE.)

Speaking of the Terror Ride, it had some work done and just reopened, it looks pretty good!
