Each day, for the rest of May, please share your honest response to each temple recommend question, based on what you believe right now
#14
Have there been any sins or misdeeds in your life that should have been resolved with priesthood authorities but have not been?

No.
And for that matter I am fed up with the obsession with sin and repentance.

No. I'm not into confessing anything anyway

Nope. Firstly I don't believe in sin, not in the way the church understands it, and secondly I don't believe that it would require 'priesthood leader' resolution.

Ah, but without that obsession they can't trap you in a cycle of being broken in a way only they can fix.

No.
As other's have mentioned, there's really
nothing in my life that needs to be "resolved" with the General Contractor down the street.

I'm a pretty vanilla, boring kind of guy. So the answer is actually no. Which, given my teenage years, is pretty sad. I have yet to recognize the irony of blasting The Smiths in my minivan. How far I have fallen.
But I wouldn't deal with mormon "authorities" even if I did. From what they're admitting now (or not even admitting yet) about the conduct of JS and BY, and those clowns get a pass and a "break," they can give me one too. So I won't be going to have any private chats with them anytime soon.

None of their business. It is between me and whatever god actually exists.

No, I truly, truly do not believe I am guilty of any sin that truly needs to be resolved with priesthood authority.
If I suddenly found the doctrinally correct, intellectually satisfying, and emotionally compelling explanations for everything in the CES Letter or Mormon Think, I would be happy to return to full faith and activity. Some leaders might disagree on certain points and I would have to figure out tithing, but excommunicable offenses generally center around marital infidelity and public apostasy. Other than watching "Game of Thrones" and a few unauthorized beverages, I have been faithful to my wife and pretty much all of the commandments involved with being kind to others and trying to live a moral life. It's disappointing that the temple rec interview strays beyond that ideal.

No. Never was.
This sounds like a blanket disclaimer to cover anything the former questions might have missed. One last chance to induce guilt where none might exist.
What really makes me mad is when I hear of people whose "sins" have already been resolved with authorities, but authorities continue to dredge them up for certain callings or missionary calls or restoration of blessings, etc.

I have always thought this, even when I was the most believingest Mormon there was.

No, If god truly believes I should repent or confess he can talk to me in person. I don't need a self righteous power grabbing middleman (who only cares about numbers) telling me I need to kiss his rear and bend over backwards to get a TR.

No way, Mormorrisey listens to The Smiths? I
never would have guessed.
Also, no, I don't recognize priesthood authority, so I'm not sure how I could resolve anything through them.

Nope. I don't have to account to anyone else for my actions. Only to myself.

Exactly. And, to tell you the truth, since I resigned, there were times when I wanted to commit a "moral transgression" just so I could repent without having the torment, guilt, and fear I would have had in the LDS Church. Just regret and talking to God about it. God does not shame. He does not ostracize. He does not gossip to others in the ward or community. He does not withhold forgiveness until certain hoops are jumped through.
