Am I confused or does
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.2.1/SP6X-Q65 list Joseph with
57 marriages?
Click on Joseph and then scroll down in the left window and Marriages (57) shows up.

11 posthumous marriages (sealings to the prophet as late as 1880) and 12 "never married" ones, though I'm not sure what that means. Also the usual 37 wives. I wonder how they get the number 57 out of that?

The Official Chuch Essays list the number at 40 wives. Biographer Todd Compton could only find 33 of them. That leaves 7 unaccounted for, but here are some possibilities:
1. Fanny Hill
2. Lady Constance Chatterley
3. Lillie Langtry
4. Clara Barton
5. Cosette Valjean
6. Margaret "Mata Hari" MacLeod
7. Nellie Oleson
Of course, this is just to fill in the blanks and perhaps aid in future Temple work assignments.
