My views on inactive members

While on a mission i spent a lot of time trying to get inactive members to come to church. They were great people but just didnt feel the need to come every sunday and take on callings.
When i got back to utah and sat on some ward council meetings. I really changed my mind about the constant push to activate members.
Sitting in the meeting i would hear the bishop say we haven't seen brother and sister skips church alot lately. We need to stop by.
I thought a lot about the in actives on my mission. And the reality set in for me.
Is there any commandment anywhere that says, thou shalt attend church every sunday? No there isnt. Does it say in any scripture that attending your church meetings will lead you to salvation. Nope, i havent seen any.
So this attend your meetings on sunday seems like a man made rule to keep you in pray, pay, and do as i say mode.
You inactive members have a good thing going and should stick with it if thats what you want.
