Sunstone Germany??

Hello all,

I have been contacted to possibly attend Sunstone Germany in early september.

https://www.sunstonemagazine.com/sunstone-germany-2017/

I feel very very honored, and overwhelmed.
Just an average Joe, who dropped out of University.
What am I to do and tell to all these PhD´s MSc, and Ba graduates??

They are in need of speakers it seems, and I am seeing obvious parallels between The Reformation which started 500 years ago in Germany and the state of the Catholic Church of the time, and the situation in the LDS Church today.
As it happens the relationship between Restoration and the Reformation is the subject at hand.
Being a history-buff it should be possible to make something out of this.

A second concidence is that the only Dutch Pope ever was elected to the papacy a few months after Luther was excommunicated in 1521, and Adrian VI wanted to reform the Church as Luther did. Needlessly to say it didn´t go well with the powers that be, even though Adrian VI was the Pope. The Roman people and the Curia thought him a barbarian and intruder, even though he had been the Regent of Spain for Emperor Charles V

A third lucky thing is that he lived and worked for over half of his career as a parish-priest at Goedereede, which is in my Ward 6 miles from my home.
As such I think it would make for a very personal and introspective hour.

Please, shoot because I need ideas, and above all an idea what to expect.
Never been to anything like this before.

Good luck. I have always enjoyed your comments. It sounds like you know a lot about the Reformation, and 21st century European Mormonism. You'll be great! :)

What are some of the most important topics of interest in Europe with the church? Maybe you can choose one of those topics? Tithing? First vision? Trying to fit the American mormon culture into European culture is like pouring new wine in old bottles... or driving a gas guzzling Cadillac instead of a Volkswagen.
