Well Rasband's talk was rather a bit of fear-mongering. But like Hagoth said, without the context of belief these talks are really basic and substance-free, like children's stories.

All that building and renovating, the church must be somewhat still flush with cash. Either that, or tithing settle should be very interesting for folks this year.

Again, I'm reminded at just how boring these things were/are. It's been 7 years since I last listened to one, and I'm sure the two times could have been switched and no one would have noticed a difference. I remember now why I used to sit in the darkened chapel watching the satellite broadcast with my head in my hands, alternating despair and trying not to fall asleep.
