Are all the rumors about easing up on WOW? What about retrenching to a more strict interpretation? Of course, Rusty could modify the WOW by sticking to the more literal reading about not eating meat. So, take current WOW with no coffee, tea, or alcohol or tobacco, add to that the recent studies about hot drinks and cancer, (no coco or hot soup or herbal tea) add to that his medical knowledge as heart surgeon about diet, and we will find ourselves with a much stricter WOW. So, he could start emphasizing the part about not eating meat, especially red meat, butter, eggs, and other high cholesterol foods, but eating lots of whole grain fiber. That is one part of WOW that Mormons tend to ignore and as heart surgeon, it very well could be one of his pet peeves.

A literal, honest push to really live the WoW would potentially heavily damage the church.

Of course a literal WOW would permit beer.
I think it’s wishful thinking, they won’t permit coffee in my lifetime. I just bought a coffee maker so I don’t care.

My wife gave me some straight up legit advice yesterday. While acknowledging that I wasn't going to watch one second of conference, she cautioned me to " ..not just believe what those anti-mormons (e.g, NOM) say about conference".
Deep sigh.
Just when I thought I was at least making SOME headway, this shiest happens.

The rumors seem much calmer than last time, although I haven't spent much time on reddit or any other boards so maybe it's just that I'm not seeing them.
It seems pretty clear that Nelson wants to give the impression of a fast moving church, so I am guessing a ton of temple announcements (shocker), maybe some tweaks to the missionary program (don't think they're changing lengths unless they move women up to two years I guess), and maybe some more window dressing of program changes.
If they relax the WoW I'm going to start drinking coffee Monday even if I hate it just to remind DW of the absurdity of RMN's "impressions" of revelation.

Keep in mind that my predictions of what will change is that the changes will be incremental and so small as to be almost invisible. But the changes probably will not be announced because they will be a gradual drifting that direction. More due to the members of the church just doing it, than any announcement that it s OK. I will be surprised in any changes are announced about garments or WOW, but there may be some token changes announced about giving women a bigger role.
As to what will be announced, more temples, one small way women have more voice, and one other “change” that changes little, such as renaming visiting and home teaching didn’t change much but the name. So, I predict another name change of something that changes very little but what we call it.
But the things that are slowly drifting, more to the members simply not following, will continue to drift. But nothing announced, about any changes. WOW will be less strict about green tea and coffee & tea extracts. For example, my son asked about green tea and his bishop said no, but he takes green tea extract and the bishop is fine with that. Can’t drink the stuff, but we can take it in pill form?!? Meanwhile, his in laws are three fourths of them drinking some form of green tea and their bishop has no problem. I know two people who drink iced coffee and their Bishop has not said no to a TR. But nothing was ever announced. It has just drifted that direction because good members are refusing to obey. Kind of like birth control was never announced as just fine, but 99% of Mormons use it at one time or another.

Q15's idea of what it means for women to have a bigger "roll".

It goes something like this: If you think there are a lot of temples now, in 5 years they could more than double the number of temples. RMN is busy working on some new ideas and said "add a zero to the number of current temples".

I hate the taste of coffee, also (ironically, I drink it 3-4x a week for health purposes). It's not too bad if it's 1/3 cream (or half and half; I use an almond creamer) and 2/3 coffee - or half coffee and half cream.

Envelope up to my forehead:
During the Saturday noontime break, KSL will have a presentation of the new Rome Temple Complex and the highlight of the historic meeting between President Russell Marion Nelson and Pope Francis. There is a possibility that Come, Come Ye Saints will be played in the background of this video presentation.
You were right Moksha!!! It's on right now.
