My DH has commented he wants us to be active again when our children get closer to 12. I cant idly stand by and allow her to be treated this way. Working on her now with critical thinking practice to get her to see that she should never allow herself to be treated as second class to a male counterpart.
Find something else to do during those times?

I'm not sure that would work for everyone, but that was a significant help for us. Our oldest daughter was devoted to gymnastics. For the first few years she was in YW, the YW activity meeting kept bopping around between Tuesday and Wednesday night. But, no matter which night it was it, it turned out it always conflicted with gymnastics practice. We gave her the choice and she always choose gymnastics. We also scheduled family outings, vacations, and events that conflicted with church meetings or events. We let our kids choose on things like temple baptisms. A few years after our oldest entered the YW program we were out of the church. Our boys were just glad to not have to bother.

AND THEN the thought occurred to me...what about those older men doing the same thing!? A hand on the back of a young woman and being laid down backwards in the water while hands are clinging to your arm?

I'm not trying to be offensive here. But this DOES strike me as potentially abusive and wrong. YUK! I have some catching up to do on this thread.
Holy sh!tsnacks! I never even thought about his from the guys perspective. The Dallas temple got sick of finding underwear and bras in their laundry so they gave us these little under-suits to wear under the jumpsuits. No support what-so-ever! Now I just feel horrible when I think about youth baptism trips. Ugh!!! I haaate church!!!!!
I had heard something about not being allowed to wear a bra, but thought, no, they would NEVER suggest the girls do baptisms bra less. So, WTF? Do they seriously not let girls, some of whom are well endowed, wear a bra? I mean, I was a double D at 14 & my younger sister was DDD by 14. No way in heck would I have done baptisms for the dead. The dead could rot in hell. The church is already so terribly hard on well endowed girls with the modesty crap. It is impossible even in a burka to look "modest" when you have a figure that is like 39, 27, 36. So glad I am out of this church.
