Korihor, you appear to be enjoying your apostasy far more than many of us. I'm just sitting here with black coffee which I have entirely not told my dear wife about. You are sounding sophisticated and erudite with drinks that have trendy names.

NOTE: "A warm dark brew" is merely regular coffee.

I admit, I have been trying to taste what the the world has to offer. That being said, virtually everything I try is posted here. I hope I wasn't obnoxious. Mostly I was waiting for someone to say "why the heck are you drinking that horse piss?"

Edit: *wasn't

This coffee. It tastes like Christmas and happiness. It is so worth the time it takes to make!

Have you tried Lagavulin 16 year yet? It's one of my favorites.

I've been working down a Bottle of High West Prairie Bourbon (trying to support my Utah peeps). It's excellent neat as well as mixed in Coke or ginger ale.

I rarely drink beer - basically when it's the only thing on the menu - but this afternoon we went to Wingstop while we were waiting for oil changes on our trucks and I had a Shocktop Belgian White (or something). It was pretty dang good! Would have been nice to have an ice bucket to keep it cold while we waited for the wings, but . . .

I have had a LOT to drink right now....I just finished my big AGO (American Guild of Organists) festival. I celebrate every year (for the last three years) the same way. I glass of wine, or two, or three, or.....six.....and Suckerpunch!

If I was a hard drinkin' man, I would grab a jar o' fine sippin' whiskey along with a bratwurst and dance a jig at Oktoberfest to this song:

Raise your glasses me hearties to Whiskey in a Jar!

Indica IPA by Lost Coast Brewery. An all-time favorite. Has the classic IPA bitterness but with an accessible flavor for those that haven't developed the taste for IPAs yet. Plus a respectable 6.5% ABV.

Highly recommend this or 60-Minute Dogfish Head as highly drinkable, accessible IPAs for all my NOM friends looking to expand their palates.

Bell's Two-Hearted is also a nice accessible IPA. It was the first IPA I liked. Sadly, Bell's distribution out west is limited to Arizona and parts of California according to http://www.seekabrew.com.

Then do yourself a favor and find this:

It's what Shock Top attempts to copy...

I've decided I don't like Mexican beers

Sam Adams Boston Lager is pretty good
Four Peaks Kilt Lifter ale is pretty good.

Which beers? Corona is not bad with a slice of lime, when you're in the mood for beer with a slice of lime.

Gluhwein. It's a sweet, spiced wine that goes perfect with Christmas dinner.

Pour a jigger (2-3 fingers) of this fine sippin' alcohol-free brandy to a mug of eggnog and top with a sprinkling of nutmeg for a fine Mormon Tom and Jerry-type drink. Take your taste buds to their celestial peak this New Year's Eve.
