They are giving a shout out to another savior, but in a spark of magnanimity decide to also include Jesus.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Someone needs to volunteer for the benediction in sacrament meeting like this:

"I close this meeting in the name of a Savior, but only Dave the Christ, who is filling in our the One True Lord and Savior, even Jesus Christ who will be ministering to the inhabitants of some other lesser planet for a couple of years."
