The whole chart is dumb, because doctrinally it should only have one giant red bubble that says "SATAN". Could also be "SCIENCE" which is the same thing.

This whole thing says something to me that I find quite interesting: They are literally FOCUSING on all the "problems".
Guess what? If you FOCUS on something, people are going to think about it all the time, and be more likely to DO what their leaders are constantly talking about. This literally PERPETUATES THE "PROBLEMS".
If they'd spend a fraction of time talking about the so-called "good news of the gospel" that they spent constantly focusing on the "Don't Do's", I think they'd be much better off.
In a way, I'm glad they continue perpetuating the "don't do" cycles. Hopefully it will help more of my loved ones get out.
Dear COB Lurkers: Please ignore this post. I'm sure one of your "experts" in your echo-chamber can tell you that I'm way off base...

Note that John Hamer also made his version of the bubble chart with non-correlated captions:

The 12 forgot that big bubble in the middle that should have read "Our own complete lack of inspiration and administrative incompetence".

It becomes a bit confusing with that far left and far right tag stuck on the bottom. It might have made sense to the employee cranking out this PowerPoint diagram, but not to others who filter the world differently. People of all persuasions can appreciate spirituality and deplore the corporatization of the Church.

It's not just us apostates that are viewing this chart with interest.
The LDS Prepper community is also getting some introspection and cognitive dissonance this fine day. Many of them are confused why their particular Mormon hobby doctrine is under scrutiny. Some are calling shenanigans. Others are, predictably, trying to reassure the forum that their brand of faithfulness is
still sanctioned by the LDS church. A few are wondering who John Dehlin might be, which could mean an amazing Mormon Stories interview after this innocent inquiry leads to a change of faith.

Do they really think that PORN is a reason people leave the church???
I think it's the exact opposite. Porn is one of the church's most powerful tools for controlling its men and boys.

Apart from the bubbles slide the thing this presentation really expresses is complete and lack of any kind of inspiration expressed in the other slides. The prophets and apostles of the one and only true church get together to remind each other that they need to have more meetings. The blind leading the blind.
Also, these threats to the church are not really actual threats to members of the church, they are merely threats to the unquestioned supremacy fifteen specific men.

^^^Nailed it!
John Hamar's parody is sweet! "Believe that women are people" --Love it!
I think we should make a NOM ward/family goal to one day have our own bubble on a Q15 power-point.

Also, they have failed to even recognize the biggest reasons people actually leave. There should be a huge bubble that says something like "logic, reason and incredulity of doctrine." And another that says "lack of prophetic/inspirational leadership."
There is nowhere here to even insert some of people's biggest issues like The Book of Abraham problems and Book of Mormon DNA/anachronisms/errors/lack of evidence, unless they are conveniently sweeping everything under the "incredulity of church history" rug.

This
would be fun to use as an excuse to the question: Why did you leave?
Answer: Boobies. (Drop mic, exit stage left.)
Too bad it would just play into their useless thought-terminating-cliché excuses for "Why people leave".
It's literally impossible to do anything "wrong" while your an active mormon, right? Right???

One of my favorite quotes in relation to the institutional church has been mentioned by me on several occasions. Napoleon Bonaparte said:
Never interfere with your enemy when he is making a mistake.
The church is not directly addressing the problems head on. John Hamer's revision that fh451 showed above is far closer to the truth. John Dehlin produced a popular presentation on why people leave the LDS church. Those items could have made an appearance on this Powerpoint slide.
I'm tempted to give the silliest cliched reason for my faith transition if the church ever officially asks me what happened. In my case, it was a list of issues culminating in the discovery that coffee is delicious, not paying tithing is awesome, and slacker Sunday afternoons are great. "Wanting to sin" was not why I left the church. "Wanting to sin" is what happily keeps me out of the church because these are only
Mormon sins and they don't produce guilt any longer.

The good thing is that the COJCOLDS was able to force them to take the PP down and it will now disappear from the interwebs. Nobody has a copy now and the wizard can go back behind the curtain.
Nothing to see here.
Haha, JK. Taking legal action legitimized and authenticates to document.
Fools. The parodies keep coming in. All of those things are symptoms not causes. Its like labeling kids as the cause of chicken pox or itchy bumps as the cause of malaria.

There are plenty of copies of it on the inter webs even though mormonleaks doesn't have anymore.
That letter from The COB just gave mormonleaks a ton of credibility.
Just gonna wait for Kirby to chime in on it.

I have two free ticket to the ballet if anyone wants them. They will be dancing to spring overtures written by Bach and Handel. Anyone? Anyone?
One big reason why people leave the church is they just don't like religion. The Q15 assumes everyone both living and dead would rather do nothing more than spend 10-40 hours per week going to church, visiting people who don't want to be visited, and spending time away from their families all in the name of religion. Religion is not for everyone, just like the ballet.
Now if I offered free tickets to an NBA game, maybe more would be excited. Maybe more would like NASCAR. How about the NFL? Problem is, the church is about as exciting as the ballet, probably less exciting actually. The mormon culture is such that if you don't like the ballet (religion) then you are ostracized. You feel obligated to participate in something you don't like. Eventually, the smart or brave ones are able to figure out how to leave.

I am trying to understand the legal order to take the PowerPoint down - what is their motivation for trying to defuse a bomb that has already exploded? Do they really think they can stop members from seeing it? Is it a shot across the bow to Mormonleaks, a kind of warning that they will face litigation if they keep doing what they are doing? Is it the Brethren trying to assert themselves? Or it is just their usual incompetent response to public challenges to their authority?
