Thanks. I think you are right.

Incidentally, I am the oldest student of my martial arts instructor, and quite a bit older than he is. I enjoy it a lot. But as the oldest student, I can't do very much. I sometimes wonder why he keeps me around.

I am one belt away from a "black belt". But I think he gave me my belts as an honorary award, rather than for real talent and ability. Or perhaps he factored my age into it, I don't know.

I also think it is helping me to live longer. And for that I am grateful.

My kids' (3 have black belts) instructor was a black American muslim - my kids learned more than how to kick a bozo in the head, they learned discipline and tolerance. So I'm sure that nothing in wasted in such endeavours.
