The idea that all "physical imperfections" will be healed in the resurrection is a nice idea but maybe doesn't carry the same weight that it used to. We are moving into a place of being more accepting of differing abilities. Not all people with a disability consider themselves "broken" and in need of fixing.

I know it's not really a physical thing, but my son with autism completely rejects the idea that he'll be resurrected as a neurotypical person.

I tried to sit and listen to Oaks' talk. I lasted about 2 minutes. Everything he said comes from 19th century Methodist sermons plagiarized by BoM prophets through the miracle of time travel.

Seriously. There was nothing in it that couldn't have been heard in any generic sermon from the last 200 years. It would be a bit fire-and-brimstoney if it wasn't so completely bland in delivery.

I've always questioned the trope that "a good shepherd will lay down his life for his flock." How do you protect your livestock when you're dead?

Wong's talk sounds nice, but even with the lost sheep metaphor, he's presenting it in the context of sheep that have gone astray, not ones that have fallen into illness or despair.
