No more PEC meetings, ward or stake, and no more High Priests meetings once a year.
Oh wait. Still one HP meeting a year, but just this streamlined/royal HP group.
I was putting kids to bed and missed most of Nelson and Rasband's talks... poor timing I guess. I did catch the No more HP thing. Did they really nix PEC? That would be pretty awesome, PEC is one of the most worthless meetings I've ever woken up at 6am to go to.
Seems so, according to Rasband. If they need extra meeting time, they'll invite everyone to a bishopric meeting. Stake PEC is now called High council meeting. Wasn't it always? Idk.

Is it just me, or do Eyring's talks generally lack a central thesis?

-10 for trying to make 14 year-olds who can read [scriptures here] into a joke.

I guess I'll never age out of EQ now.
Consolidation to cover the fact more men are leaving the church?
What does this accomplish?

Well, Eyring is talking up home teaching now. I guess it's not being axed or turned into "ministering," as the rumors went. Unless they do it later.

Boy, Oaks loves his legalistic God, doesn't he?

I can't stand to hear all their "will of the Lord" sh@#. We all know damn good and well why they are combining the HP and Elders. I can't listen to this any more.
The worse part about this is now I can't ditch Elder's quorum (haven't been in over two years) when my in-laws visit because my FIL is a HP. He'll be in the same class now. Ahhhhhhh

Oaks is selectively quoting D&C about what we should do to fulfill priesthood and quorum responsibilities. We don't follow most of it in practice and haven't for a very long time.

It's true - do we need an entire meeting devoted to a silly corporate restructuring? Like having faith NOT to be healed, the bar for revelation seems to be set pretty low.

Here comes ministering brothers program. I'm hearing the word "ministering" a bunch. RMN will bring it home.

If some guy came to me telling me what to do because "he had priesthood keys" I'd tell him to shove it. Unbelievable story. No wonder these dudes have no boundaries. They have NONE. What a horrible story.

Seems like Eyring and Oaks are setting up a doctrinal foundation for a larger announcement unless of course they are intentionally leaking bad info to throw off mormon leaks.

HEY HEY HEY!! It's only supposed to be 90 minutes. For crying out loud. 15 more.
Nelson ends.

So Nelson tells a story about how a young dad said a nice prayer over his daughter, but didn't give them a blessing. What the heck does that mean? Well, I'm waiting for him to tell me. Instead, he says we need to BLESS them. Ok then.

It seems they solved the dwindling priesthood attendance problem at one fell swoop.
This.

“Let me tell you how important I am”. This is just grueling. Get it over with already.

This is the kind of nonsense that stresses young missionaries out, when they don't baptize. If you don't have priesthood power and change lives, it's YOUR fault, you inadequate piece of crap.

Nothing like showing your power by getting everybody to stand up. This is crazy.

Well, that's it. Thanks for joining in.
I'm sure everyone who was there will tell the story when they felt the spirit when forced to stand up, and it changed their lives and those around them, and the number of saved souls will increase dramatically and....
Yeah.

I'm guessing "ministering" will be announced tomorrow since it affects men and women. They set the foundation though.
