Yes, I think that's the program! I would love to do it still, but maybe not before my older two are grown and my little is a teen.

I'm learning to live now in this moment, that means no more pressuring myself to make "the big" decision. If you want to go, make a plan and then just do it. But there's no reason you have to decide anything about the church before you leave. You can just go.

Ride the waves and be you.

So cool! I hope you end up doing it :) If I end up doing some WWOOFing or something similar, I'll try to remember to post about it here so you can hear a bit more about what it's like.

Love this, Xaphalanx. Yes, I recognize I don't have to choose now. I am so indecisive about everything though... not just religion/spirituality, but career, where and what to study, etc., and it kind of stresses me out. But I suppose these are not things I need to commit to for the rest of my life. I really love this space of openness and possibility, even if it does stress me out at times. I want to learn to live more in the moment as well... and I think traveling naturally encourages this :)

My DD lasted 8 months in the Peace Corps. She came home early after being physically assaulted 3 separate times by the men in her small African village. The PC is not a safe way to go for young women. Once trained you will live alone in your assigned areas. She loved doing the service, but was quite traumatized by these attacks...so came home early. It took some time for her to process, decompress, and make sense of it all. The military might be a safer option than the PC....at least in the military you have "battle buddies" to watch your back.

The military can be a great way to get out. It's usually Mormon approved as well. But I will quote a friend of mine,\.

"They say 'Join the Navy, see the world.' Then I found out that the world is 75% water." Make sure you go in with realistic expectations.
