All the glory to... who?

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

All the glory to... who?

Post by Hagoth »

Yesterday Mrs. Hagoth and I both got emails from the church announcing the openhouse of the Salt Lake temple. This morning she pointed out that it is scheduled for more than two years from now? Whaaa?

Mrs. H observed, "Nelson is just announcing it now because he knows he won't be alive to take all of the credit for himself."
“The easy confidence with which I know another man's religion is folly teaches me to suspect that my own is also.” -Mark Twain

Jesus: "The Kingdom of God is within you." The Buddha: "Be your own light."

I suspect Mrs. Hagoth is right.
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

This makes me wonder if he is not well and knows he is on the way out

What is the old parable about putting your hand in a bucket of water and then pulling it out? Here's the poem.
The Indispensable Man
Des Traynor
by Saxon White Kessinger
Sometime when you’re feeling important;
Sometime when your ego ‘s in bloom;
Sometime when you take it for granted,
You’re the best qualified in the room:
Sometime when you feel that your going,
Would leave an unfillable hole,
Just follow these simple instructions,
And see how they humble your soul.

Take a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hand in it up to the wrist,
Pull it out and the hole that’s remaining,
Is a measure of how much you’ll be missed.
You can splash all you wish when you enter,
You may stir up the water galore,
But stop, and you’ll find that in no time,
It looks quite the same as before.

The moral of this quaint example,
Is to do just the best that you can,
Be proud of yourself but remember,
There’s no indispensable man.
God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

Little Bit of Me Lyrics by Melanie Safka
Balanced on the mountain
With the people all around
Who say that I've been up too long
And they want to bring me down
Well I wouldn't mind the falling...no
It's the ones who come to see
If all I've got left inside
Is a little bit of me

Won't you hold my hand now
Hold my hand tight
Hold lightly in the day
And hold harder at night
Well I don't mind the coming down
It's the way it's got to be
What I hope I got left inside
Is a little bit of me

Now when it is all over
And I become a seed
They'll plant me in the universe
Where the balance gotta be
Now I don't mind the dyin', no
It's the way it's got to be
But I hope I leave behind
Just a little bit of me
A little bit of me

May Providence/God bless us, every one. ;)

Totally agree with this conclusion.
"There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily."

"Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light."

How does one transfer or exchange glory? is it tokenized like money?

Is there a quanta of glory?

How is it even measured?

In 2025 it seems to be "views."
