A New Facet of Genealogy

This is for encouragement, ideas, and support for people going through a faith transition no matter where you hope to end up. This is also the place to laugh, cry, and love together.

A New Facet of Genealogy

Post by moksha »

Want a new facet of genealogy beyond indexing? Close your eyes and think of what comes to mind. Ancestor worship? No, save that for the General Authorities. Conjuring an angel with a drawn sword? No, been there done that.

How about dressing up as your ancestor? That's the ticket. Watch how Christian Fuchs (gotta dig that name!) from Peru approaches this subject:

Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

For the love of Mormon Jesus, please don't give my grandmother another idea like this for the next family reunion

I could totally get behind this kind of genealogy!

I thought you were going to write about how the new DNA testing is revealing that the biological father isn't always the one of record and that we've been sealing people the wrong fathers all this time and going to the wrong family reunions, etc.

My children already dress up for Phoenix Comicon as the characters they wish they were. Most of the time dressing up like an ancestors is going to mean dressing up like a poor, subsistence farmer or pioneer. The LDS church already has pioneer trek for the youth so they have that covered.
