Weird Trick to improve your Mormonism
Weird Trick to improve your Mormonism
Good faith does not require evidence, but it also does not turn a blind eye to that evidence. Otherwise, it becomes misplaced faith.

Re: Weird Trick to improve your Mormonism
That's quite sneaky to use click bait headlines to get me to read your posts. Now I'm awaiting the missionary department to try the same tactics.
- "This one weird trick will get ensure your salvation"
- "Top 10 restored secrets about God (number 7 will have you tears of joy)"
- "When these two Mormon Missionaries knocked on her door, at first she thought..." (This sounds like the setup for a conversion story and a porn movie [Joseph Smith is involved so maybe both])
If I had this firm resolve to live as authentically as possible it would have caused some rifts in my family, wife's family, and ward family. It's really hard to walk back a public stand for leaving the church. But as long as I added rated R movies back onto my Netflix queue, stopped paying tithing, and started playing computer games on Sunday I found that I had 90% of what I was looking for in my personal life to begin with.

To improve Mormonism I'd say worship a God of Truth and Love. Be suspicious of any god or demi god that says tell little lies, or keep secrets. And realize that anyone you can't criticize is equivalent in status to a demi god. (for example, Joseph Smith)
Yeah, NOM is on the right track.
Yeah, NOM is on the right track.

God is Love. God is Truth. The greatest problem with organized religion is that the organization becomes god, rather than a means of serving God.

JUST SAY NOM!

I've been kind of catching up on Mormon Stories interviews lately after not listening as much for a while. One thing that has surprised me is when interviewees talk about an Internet forum that they found more comfortable than the ex-Mormon ones, but they can't remember the name until John Dehlin reminds them that it was NOM. I noticed that in two or three different interviews.
